We’re in search of a Twinbrook parent with the energy, enthusiasm, and can-do spirit to be at the helm of our fundraising efforts during the 2014-2015 school year. Now, in case your immediate response is to discount the idea, think again. About half of our funds raised come from events and activities that are already coordinated by dedicated volunteers (like Restaurant Nights) or passive means (such as eScrip, the program that donates through grocery stores like Safeway and Giant). The VP of Fundraising’s main task for the school year will be to choose, coordinate and run a fundraising event in the late fall. Last year, that event was the Boosterthon Fun Run. As you consider serving on the Twinbrook PTA board, consider how satisfying it is to be closely connected to the school and staff and how much impact you can have on your child(ren)’s school experience.
We are finishing up a very productive, successful school year, thanks in part to support from the Twinbrook Elementary School community, parents and PTA board members. The PTA has supported field trips, the yearbook, a new butterfly garden on school grounds, two all-school assemblies, brand-new indoor recess games for every classroom, and staff appreciation events.
Please consider serving on the PTA board as VP of Fundraising. You’ll make new friends, connect with the PTA community and find satisfaction in making a difference.
