December 16 Newsflash

PTA News

  • Thanks for all the families who came out to last Thursday’s Restaurant Night at Five Guys. Twinbrook had the place packed! It was fun to see so many families and kids spending time together.
  • The PTA worked with Twinbrook administration to identify and purchase six new games for every classroom. These games have been given to teachers and will be used for indoor recess. Thanks for your support with fundraising so that we were able to provide this for our students.
  • December’s Twinbrook Tiger Tuesday (TTT) winner is Ms. Massie’s 3rd graders. TTT is a new program that the PTA has implemented to increase individual classroom spirit. Every few weeks a new class is drawn by random lottery to be that months “Featured Class.” They get the TTT special banner hung outside their classroom, pencils, Silver Diner gift certificates (for students and teachers), and a small cash award that the teacher can use for classroom supplies or special activities. Previous winners were Mrs. Lethbridge’s 4th graders in October and Ms. Dhora’s 1st graders in November.
  • Save the date! On Tuesday, January 7, we will hold a General PTA meeting at 6:30. Afterwards, the school will sponsor a special speaker on social and emotional learning. On Thursday, January 9, the PTA will hold a Board meeting at 7:00 pm.
  • The next Club Twinbrook will be held on Friday, January 24. This program, run in conjunction with the Twinbrook Recreation Center, provides a fun night at the Rec Center for Twinbrook ES kids. Look for a registration form in January.
