Fun Run!
It’s time for the Twinbrook Fun Run on November 4! The Twinbrook Elementary School PTA sponsors this event each year to raise funds for ALL field trips for Grades K-5. We count on support from all parents, teachers, and students to make it a success. The Twinbrook Fun Run brings students, staff and families together to have FUN and encourage healthy, active living.
The students enjoyed Fun Run kickoff rallies yesterday at school, featuring a video of Twinbrook staff cheering on the students. They brought home information to share with parents, including how to set up a fundraising webpage at www.thegetmovincrew.com. We know that every child can make a contribution and work as a team to reach our school fundraising goal of $10,000.
Children bringing in $20 or more during a week will get a chance to win a weekly Grand Prize (gift cards to the movies/bowling/mini golf, scooters, books, Twinbrook spirit wear). If you would like to donate a prize, please contact Colleen Reed at cclreed@verizon.net.
Twinbrook dad, Ricky Davenport-Thomas, will serve as deejay and emcee, spinning great music to keep everyone pumped up. We’ll need a big cheering section, so we hope to see many of you come to watch and volunteer! Book Fair Thank You!
Thanks to you our book fair was a huge success. We raised over $3000 to promote literacy at Twinbrook by providing books the media center and providing books and Scholastic news magazines to teachers.

Restaurant Fundraisers
- Don’t forget to join us for Restaurant Night at Miller’s Ale House on Tuesday, October 18 from 5-9 pm. Not only will Miller’s be providing us with a portion of their proceeds, it’s also Kids Eat Free night! (1 Free Kids Meal with the purchase of 1 regularly priced Adult Entree. Ages 12 & under. Dine in only.) What better reason to come out and support the PTA?
- We’ll also be having a Restaurant Lunch at Chipotle at Pike & Rose on Sunday, October 23 from 12-4 pm. Make sure you download the flyer or tell the cashier that you are support Twinbrook. Chipotle will give 50% of their proceeds to our PTA!
City of Rockville Classes
- This fall, the City of Rockville is offering stay and play after school clubs right at Twinbrook. Kids have a choice between co-ed basketball, cheer club or yummy art. A minimum of eleven students are required for each class to take place, so tell your friends! Registration deadlines start November 4. See the stay and play brochure for more details.
- The City of Rockville Winter Basketball leagues are now forming. The early bird registration deadline is October 27 and the regular registration deadline is November 3. See the winter youth brochure for more details.

Fun Run!
Es la hora del Twinbrook Fun Run le 4 noviembre! El PTA de la Escuela Primaria Twinbrook patrocina este evento cada año para recaudar fondos para todas las excursiones para los grados K-5.
