It’s Book Fair Time! 

• The online book fair has started! From 9/28 until 10/18, you can shop online at: http://www.scholastic.com/bf/twinbrookelementaryschool. Your purchases will be delivered to school for free!
• The Book Fair starts in the Media Center on Tuesday, 10/4. See our hours online at: http://www.scholastic.com/bf/twinbrookelementaryschool
• All classes will have a chance to visit and make a wish list on 10/4-10/5! There’s no sales tax. Please don’t send kids to school with blank checks or credit cards (Hey, it’s happened…)
• We welcome parents! Come visit the Book fair at the Ice Cream Social Tuesday, 7pm. We are also open on Open House Day (10/10) and are open until 6pm on Thursday 10/6 and Friday 10/7.
• Please consider buying a wish list book for a teacher while you’re at the Book Fair!
• We are in desperate need of volunteers, especially for Wednesday, 10/5. Please send Stephanie Diaz an email at volunteer@twinbrookpta.org or go to our online signup at http://www.scholastic.com/bf/twinbrookelementaryschool

PTA Ice Cream Social
Cabaña Grill will be selling dinner from their food truck at 6:30 on October 4^th.  Come enjoy pupusas, tacos and quesadillas in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.  Once you’ve grabbed dinner, come inside for our Ice Cream Social at 7:00 pm.

While you are there, stop in the Book Fair between 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.

Restaurant Night Success!
Thanks to you we raised $438 from our Silver Diner restaurant night!  In addition, we received $502 from their Eat Well, Do Well program.  Don’t miss our next restaurant night at Miller’s Ale House on October 18!

Keep in mind the other ways you can easily raise funds for the school.

Upcoming Events
Come in costume to the Monster Mash Family Dance at the Twinbrook Rec Center on October 28.  The cost is $3 per person and you can enjoy pumpkin decorating, Halloween crafts and a DJ. Refreshments will be sold by the Twinbrook PTA.

MCPS Required Volunteer Training
Because of new MCPS guidelines, all parents and family members who want to volunteer must take the online training: Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect. For more information on how to take the training, see our website at:https://twinbrookpta.org/2016/09/24/mcps-volunteer-training/

Es la Hora de la  Feria del Libro!

• La feria del libro en línea comienza hoy! Desde el  9/28 – 10/18, usted puede hacer compras en línea en: http://www.scholastic.com/bf/twinbrookelementaryschool. Sus compras serán entregadas a la escuela de forma gratuita!
• La Feria de Libro comienza en la biblioteca el martes 10/4. Vea nuestro horario en línea en: http://www.scholastic.com/bf/twinbrookelementaryschool
• Todas las clases tendrán la oportunidad de visitar y hacer una lista de deseos, el 10/4 -10/5. No hay taxes sobre las ventas. Por favor, no envíen a los niños a la escuela con cheques en blanco o tarjetas de crédito (Hey, que ha pasado…)
• Damos la bienvenida a los padres! Vengan a visitar la feria de libro en el Ice Cream Social el Martes, 7:00 PM. También estamos abiertos en la Jornada de Puertas Abiertas (10/10) y estara abiertos hasta las 6:00 PM el jueves y el viernes 10/6 y 10/7.
• Por favor, consideren la compra de un libro de la lista de los deseos de los maestro.

Helado Social de la PTA
Cabaña Grill food truck estará a disposición de quien guste comprar a 6:30 pm el 4 de octubre. Disponen de pupusas, tacos y quesadillas en honor al Mes de la Herencia Hispana. Una vez tengan su cena pasen al interior para nuestro helado social a las 7:00 pm.

Mientras está allí, haga su parada en la Feria del Libro entre 7:00-8:30 pm

La  Noche de Restaurante ha sido un Éxito!
Se han conseguido recaudar $ 438 gracias a ustedes! Además, recibimos $ 502 de su programa Eat Well, Do Well. No se pierda nuestra próxima noche en el restaurante Miller’s Ale House el 18 de octubre!

Y también recuerde las otras formas de recaudar fondos para la escuela fácilmente.

Próximos Eventos
Traiga su mejor disfraz de monstruo ael centro de Rec Twinbrook el 28 de octubre. El costo de la fiesta es de $ 3 por persona y se puede disfrutar de decoración de calabazas, artesanía de Halloween y DJ. Los refrigerios serán vendidos por el PTA Twinbrook.

Formación MCPS Obligatoria para el Voluntariado
